Community Recipe: Foolproof Balsamic Dressing (And Its Benefits)

A classic balsamic vinegar dressing is a versatile dressing, dip, and marinade. Whether you’re tossing a quick garden salad, serving bread before a meal, or spicing up your chicken dish, it’s a quick ready-in-minutes option. Plus, you likely have most of these ingredients in your pantry already! 

Besides a bold, tangy flavor, balsamic vinegar has plenty of health benefits: lower cholesterol, healthy digestion, improved blood pressure and circulation, and even clearer and brighter skin. It also is known to contain probiotic compounds to help you feel fuller for longer.

Make this staple vinaigrette in just 5 minutes. 

Foolproof Balsamic Dressing

Time: 5 mins

Ingredients

  • ½ cup balsamic vinegar
  • ½ cup olive oil
  • ⅓ cup maple syrup, or to taste
  • Dash of lemon juice
  • 1-2 cloves garlic, minced (or ¼ tsp powdered garlic to taste)
  • Pinch of sea salt, to taste
  • ½ tsp cracked pepper, to taste
  • ½ tsp dried thyme
  • Chives

Directions

Step 1. Combine all ingredients in a bowl or dressing container. Use a sealable container for simple mixing!

Step 2. Shake thoroughly to mix oil, vinegar, maple syrup, and spices. Or, whip with a whisk or blender.  

Step 3. Serve with your favorite green salad, protein, bread, or veggies! Keep refrigerated for leftovers, and don’t forget to shake before use!
