5 Simple Lessons We Can Learn From Pro-Aging Advocate Mimi Ison

Meet your new pro-aging friend, Mimi. She’s helping us all to navigate ‘comfy and uncomfy midlife stuff’ and is on mission to upend harmful ageist stereotypes by starting meaningful conversations on midlife.

Leave perfectionism and negativity behind and consider Mimi’s 5 simple lessons for aging well.

1. ONE LIFE, ONE BODY: Take care of it, so it can take care of you.

2. TIME IS PRECIOUS: Be mindful of where you spend it, and who you give it to.

3. BELIEF IS EVERYTHING: If you don’t believe in yourself, you will never do the thing. Speak to yourself as if you are your BFF. You would never disparage your best friend, so don’t do it to yourself.

4. KNOW YOUR WHY: Your “why” to change needs to be stronger than you why to stay static.

5. SATISFACTION COMES FROM MAKING PROGRESS: It comes from the journey, so have goals, start small, and work toward them brick by brick.
